Party workers paid floral tributes to his portrait by garlanding it and offering flowers. This was followed by a havan, religious rituals and a peace prayer led by National Equal Party convenor Shashi Pratap Singh.<br>Speaking on the occasion, Shashi Pratap Singh described Mulayam Singh Yadav as a great statesman, saying that his demise felt like the end of an era. He recalled that Netaji had devoted his life to fighting for the rights of the poor, farmers, youth and underprivileged sections of society. His ideals and struggles, he said, would continue to inspire party workers for generations.<br>Workers of the National Equal Party, an ally of the Samajwadi Party, also participated in the tribute meeting.
