Victim’s Side Seeks Fair Probe in Kuwar Bazar Clash, Raises Concern Over Repeat of “Ghamahapur-like” Incident<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Varanasi, July 6:
A fresh controversy has emerged over the clash reported from Kuwar Bazar in the Phulpur police station area of Varanasi, where cross cases, including one under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, have been registered. The injured party has demanded a fair and impartial investigation, alleging that failure to ensure justice could escalate tensions in the area.
According to the complainant, Shantanu Singh, son of Rajnish Kumar Singh, had visited a poultry shop at Kuwar Bazar to purchase chicken. He alleged that after agreeing on a price of \u20b9280 per kilogram and making an online payment of \u20b9900 for three kilograms, the shopkeepers later claimed that five kilograms of chicken had been cut and demanded an additional \u20b91,000, leading to a dispute.
The family stated that Rajnish Kumar Singh reached the spot and managed to pacify the situation. However, the following morning, when he visited the market for tea, he was allegedly assaulted by Manish Sonkar, Vinod Sonkar, Manoj Sonkar, and Alla using sticks, iron rods, and hockey sticks, causing serious injuries. Police from Kathirao outpost, led by outpost in-charge J.K. Verma, reached the scene and sent the injured man for medical examination.
Supporters from both sides later gathered at the spot, following which the police registered cases based on complaints filed by both parties.
The injured party further alleged that two days after the FIRs were lodged, the opposing side misled the administration by presenting a video claiming vandalism at their shop and subsequently got a case registered under the SC\/ST Act. They also objected to reports circulated through sections of the media alleging that Mahendra Pratap Singh, father of Rajnish Kumar Singh, had threatened the other side to withdraw the case.
Rejecting the allegation, the family stated that Mahendra Pratap Singh has been on bed rest for nearly one and a half months due to a fractured leg and is not in a condition to move around, making the allegation baseless. They also clarified that the rifle in his possession is a legally licensed firearm.
Rajnish Kumar Singh has appealed to the district administration to conduct an impartial investigation and take action strictly on the basis of facts. Advocate Shailendra Pratap Singh, Vivek Singh, Gaurav Singh, Alok Tiwari, Vikrant Singh (National Organising Secretary, Akhil Bharatiya Kshatriya Mahasabha), Sher Bahadur Singh (District President, Akhil Bharatiya Kshatriya Mahasabha), and several others were present while making the demand.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
