Man Alleges ₹50,000 Extortion Demand, Threat of False Criminal Case
Saurabh Jaiswal accuses woman of harassment and filing alleged false complaints at multiple police stations; seeks action from Bhelupur Police
Varanasi: Saurabh Jaiswal, son of late Manohar Lal Jaiswal and a resident of Sonarpura, Baghahada, under Bhelupur police station limits, has accused a woman of mentally harassing him, demanding ₹50,000 as extortion, and threatening to implicate him in a false criminal case if he failed to pay the money. He has submitted a written complaint to police officials, seeking an investigation and legal action against the woman.
According to the complaint, Jaiswal alleged that a woman identified as Shakuntala Devi had accused him of taking four LPG cylinders. However, he claimed that he had never met the woman and did not know her. He further alleged that she had been threatening him over the phone.
Jaiswal stated that at around 9 pm on October 11, 2026, an unidentified person arrived at his residence and claimed to have been sent by Shakuntala Devi. The person allegedly demanded ₹50,000 and threatened to implicate him in a false case involving a woman if he refused to pay.
He also alleged that the woman had been submitting complaints against him at several police stations in Varanasi, including Dashashwamedh, Luxa and Bhelupur, as well as at the Bajardeeha and Assi police outposts and other police stations.
Jaiswal claimed that these alleged actions had caused him considerable distress and fear, and expressed apprehension that an untoward incident could occur. He has urged the police to investigate the matter and take appropriate legal action.
The allegations are based on the complainant’s version; the claims have not been independently verified.
