Trade Body Seeks Smooth Movement for Traders, Residents During VIP Visits
Kashi Vyapar Pratinidhi Mandal urges police to allow access on presentation of authorised identity cards
Varanasi: In view of the inconvenience faced by local traders and residents due to barricading and movement restrictions during VIP and VVIP visits to Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple, the Kashi Vyapar Pratinidhi Mandal has urged the police to ensure smooth movement in the affected areas.
On October 8, Sonalal Seth, President (Nyay Manch) of the trade body, submitted a written representation to the Station House Officer of Chowk Kotwali, requesting that traders and local residents be permitted to move through restricted areas upon presenting authorised identity cards issued by the trade association.
Seth pointed out that security arrangements during VIP movements often make it difficult for traders to reach their establishments and for residents to access their homes. He requested the police to issue permanent instructions to the concerned officers and personnel to facilitate hassle-free movement while maintaining the required security arrangements.
He said that such a measure would help maintain security while preventing unnecessary inconvenience to traders and local residents.
Those present during the submission of the representation included Sonalal Seth, Vijay Gupta, Vice-President Rajesh Soni, Kesari Nandan, Shailendra Kumar Singh, Vijay Pandey, Lallan Pandey and several other members.
