Grand Teej Festival Celebrated at Sarnath, Rose Garden Resonates with Kajri Melodies
Varanasi: A grand Teejotsav 2026, dedicated to Indian culture, folk traditions and women’s empowerment, was organised on Sunday at Rose Garden in Sarnath. The event was organised by Shri Shanti Bhola Seva Nyas in association with Shivshakti Parivar Foundation.
The celebration showcased the rich folk culture of Kashi and Purvanchal. Renowned Kajri singers Mangla Saloni and Uttam Rai enthralled the audience with their soulful performances. As part of the celebration honouring women, sarees and traditional beauty accessories were presented to women participants.
Engineer Aparajita Sonkar, former District Panchayat Chairperson; Rajni Sharma, Patron, Sankata Mata Temple; Din Dayal Pandey, Patron, Shri Shanti Bhola Seva Nyas and Shivshakti Parivar Foundation; Abhay Pandey, Councillor, Sarnath and Secretary, Shri Shanti Bhola Seva Nyas; CA Dhananjay Ojha, Founder, Shivshakti Parivar; along with Alok Rai, Veena Rai, Sita Mishra, Diksha Pandey, Pragya Pathak, Swapnil Singh, Saurabh Srivastava, Arpit Chaturvedi and Kuldeep Pandey were among those present.
The guests emphasised the importance of preserving Indian culture, folk traditions and the region’s cultural heritage and passing them on to the younger generation. The enthusiastic participation of a large number of women added to the vibrancy and appeal of the celebration.
