Varanasi Makes Its Mark on International Tourism Platform, Represents Kashi in Vietnam
New Delhi/Varanasi, August 13: With the aim of strengthening tourism ties between India and Vietnam, a Familiarization (FAM) Trip was organized in Dalat, Vietnam, with the participation of 12 selected travel agents from across India. The programme was jointly organized by the Consulate General of India and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lam Dong Province.
Varanasi was prominently represented at the international tourism programme by two leading travel industry professionals — Bhuvendra Vikram Singh, Chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Chapter of the Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) and Director of Prime Value Tour, and Abhishek Singh, Director of Travel Ocean.
Bhuvendra Vikram Singh, who led the Indian delegation, was specially honoured by the Deputy Director of Vietnam Tourism and the Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City.
During the programme, Abhishek Singh held discussions on strengthening tourism business between India and Vietnam, increasing tourist movement between the two countries and creating new business opportunities. The event was attended by leading Vietnamese travel agents, hoteliers, airline representatives and government officials.
As part of the FAM Trip, the Indian delegation assessed ground-level tourism services, hotels, transportation, air connectivity and major tourist destinations. Representatives from both countries discussed improving tourist facilities, developing new tour packages and increasing tourist movement between India and Vietnam.
Following their return to India, the representatives emphasized the need to further strengthen bilateral tourism business and promote major Indian destinations, including Kashi-Varanasi, among Vietnamese travellers.
Tourism industry representatives expressed confidence that the initiative would provide fresh momentum to tourism business and tourist movement between India and Vietnam in the coming years.
