SP Leaders Pay Tribute to Mulayam Singh Yadav on His Fourth Death Anniversary

Havan, prayers and commemorative meeting held; party workers pledge to uphold socialist ideals

Varanasi, October 10: A tribute meeting and commemorative gathering were organised at the Samajwadi Party’s district office in Ardali Bazar on Saturday to mark the fourth death anniversary of party founder and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav.
On the occasion, Samajwadi Party state secretary and former city president Vishnu Sharma ‘Vishwakarma’ performed Vedic rituals, including havan, puja and peace prayers. Party office-bearers and workers paid floral tributes to Mulayam Singh Yadav’s portrait and remembered his contributions.
Addressing the gathering, SP district president Sujeet Yadav ‘Lakkad Pahalwan’ said that Mulayam Singh Yadav had dedicated his life to fighting for the rights of the poor, farmers, exploited and underprivileged sections of society. He said the late leader remained connected to the grassroots and treated party workers like family. Following the socialist principles shown by him would be the truest tribute to his legacy, he added.
Former MLA from Varanasi North, Abdul Samad Ansari, said Mulayam Singh Yadav had promoted social justice, mutual brotherhood and communal harmony through his politics. He added that the decisions taken by the former Chief Minister for the development of the state and the country continued to be remembered.
SP state secretary and former city president Vishnu Sharma ‘Vishwakarma’ described Mulayam Singh Yadav’s life as an example of struggle, simplicity and public service. District spokesperson Santosh Yadav ‘Bablu’ said the late leader’s dedication to strengthening the organisation and safeguarding the dignity of party workers would continue to inspire them. His thoughts and socialist principles, he added, would motivate workers to remain committed to public service.
At the conclusion of the programme, attendees observed a two-minute silence in his memory and pledged to take his ideals and socialist values to the people.
Those present included former district presidents Atmaram Yadav and Akhilesh Mishra, Dr OP Singh, senior leader Dr Umashankar Yadav, Shashi Pratap Singh, Hriday Gupta, Bhishma Narayan Yadav, Pintu Pal, Umakant Tripathi, Gopal Pandey, Shriram Singh Yadav, Sanjay Pahalwan, Ramkumar Yadav and several other party office-bearers and workers.
